Meet the Team – Sally Melville, Marketing Coordinator

 

What do you do at GoodCall?

I am the Marketing Coordinator at GoodCall and I am responsible for our marketing and communications strategy, as well as all the exciting campaigns and content we share. I love creating content based on the key issues our customers face as well as sharing the social impact of GoodCall’s work.

What do you enjoy most about working at GoodCall?

The most rewarding aspect is when I know we are making a difference with the technology we provide and ultimately help charities be better connected. I love getting to engage with our charities creatively through case studies and learn about the impact that our technology is making for their organisation in a measurable way. We are hoping to shine a spotlight on the amazing work being done in the sector and make sure mobile is accessible for every organisation that needs it.

I think working in a start-up environment has been fantastic as I have developed so many new skills as well as learning how to adapt quickly. Working with such a fantastic small team who encourage creativity has given me the opportunity to build my confidence and tap into skills I never knew I had.

Why are GoodCall’s values important to you?

I think shining a light on digital inclusion is vital to building more resilient communities. The coronavirus pandemic has really exposed the digital divide in the UK and I think the way charities have rapidly adapted to this new environment has been so inspiring – I am really passionate about tech for good and I’m so glad it’s at the core of our work.

Why do you think a charity should work with GoodCall?

I think a charity should work with us because we can provide such a great a level of support and care because we really understand the issues they face. By choosing a social enterprise supplier, they are also returning value into the sector. We combine experience and knowledge in both the third sector and telecoms meaning we can provide you with expert advice about contracts, packages and technology that will best suit your needs.

What are your hopes for the future of GoodCall?

I hope that GoodCall can continue to grow and that we are able to reach as many charities as possible with our message – our ultimate goal is to be the go-to supplier for the sector. Working with our charities has shown me the impact of our technology and I hope this year I can really capture that through the kind of content I am creating.

What are your passions or hobbies?

I love to be creative – drawing, painting, crochet, digital art – anything I can get my hands on really! I also love photography and making video content. In summer 2020 my friends and I won the IRN-BRU #GetsYouThrough ad competition which we filmed on roller skates in a car park during lockdown – that was definitely a highlight in my year! I also take part in community organising for LGBT+ youth events, and volunteering for a local youth mental health charity.

Show us your favourite photo and tell us why you love it. 

Here’s me and some of my friends on trip we organised in partnership with Abertay University to Madrid Pride 2019 – we had such a fantastic time and it was great fun and we got to meet loads of great local activists! Looking forward to travelling again so much!
